This little video illustrates the difference between Paris and other big cities around the world. While in New York subways, a few weeks ago, I entertained myself by counting rats scampering amongst the Dunkin’ Donut cups discarded in the tracks. (I saw 8 in a week!) But in Paris, small impromptu chamber orchestras play pretty music for you while changing trains in the incredible metro system. Ahh… douceur de vivre
you must have forgotten your glasses! I lived in Paris for three years and counted millions of rats, mice and cockroaches on the metro system and everywhere in town. I have been once in a restaurant on the Champs Elysees while a mouse was running between tables! Other cities have buskers on their metro system as well.
I love how no one seems the least bit surprised – they act like it’s as common an occurrence as the crazy mexican bands on the NY subways.
There is plenty of music variety in the subway.. Ive been on the metro.. its not all that..
